INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Thousands of music fans will pour into Bankers Life Fieldhouse next month to see Mumford & Sons perform.
But a much smaller crowd will get a chance to see the Grammy Award-winning group perform hours before the show and for free.
Indy CD & Vinyl on Broad Ripple Avenue will host the band at 3 p.m. on March 25 before their concert downtown. The live acoustic set will be followed by an autograph signing and meet-and-greet.
The event is "free and open to everyone" the business said in a Facebook event listing, but the store is acknowledging things could get a little cramped:
"We will do our best to accommodate everyone, but there is a chance it might be, you know, a little crowded. We recommend you come early (and buy lots of records) and be aware at some point we might need to cut off entry if we hit capacity. Please be kind, aware, and willing to understand why the fire marshal puts crowd limits in buildings. Let's have some fun!"
In a reply to one commenter, Indy CD & Vinyl said there was still time to figure out logistics and that making the event private or give tickets away through a drawing.
But no matter the crowd, the store seems confident they can pull it off.
"We have big in-stores pretty regularly," they said in one reply.
The record store is located at 806 Broad Ripple Avenue. Late Thursday, about six days after posting the event, more than 800 people marked themselves as "going" on Facebook, with over 6,200 interested in attending.
