NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WXIA) — After missing his chance in Nashville, Kid Rock will be a special guest in the Leiper's Fork Christmas Parade later this month in Williamson County.
The parade, previously scheduled for Saturday, was postponed until Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. due to inclement weather expected this weekend.
Rock reached out to organizers in hopes of participating in the parade, said Laura Musgrave, director of the Christmas parade in Leiper's Fork.
"He has some friends out here, and we're wild and wacky, eclectic and fun," Musgrave said. "This parade has never been about politics — it's a Christmas parade."
The grand marshal will be John Schneider, who played Bo Duke in the TV show "Dukes of Hazzard." The parade will lead off on the village's Main Street.
Rock, whose real name is Robert James Richie, caused a stir last week after he appeared on Fox & Friends and made remarks that seemed to downplay complaints about racism and homophobia as political correctness. He then called Joy Behar, co-host of The View, a "b----."
"God forbid you say something a little bit wrong, you're racist, homophobic, Islamophobic, this that and another. People need to calm down get a little less politically correct," Rock said.
"I would say, 'love everybody,' except I'd say, 'screw that Joy Behar b----,'" he added in his appearance, taped live from Rock's honky-tonk in Nashville.
Rock, who was previously announced as the grand marshal for the Nashville Christmas Parade, was kicked out by organizers after he made the comments.
Waffle House mass shooting hero James Shaw Jr. was selected to be the new grand marshal for the parade.
