LOS ANGELES (WTHR) — Indiana comedian Ryan Niemiller was eliminated in the semifinals of the second season of "America's Got Talent: The Champions" Monday night.

Although Niemiller finished third in the latest season of the NBC show, he failed to get enough votes from the "superfans" to be one of six acts to advance to next week's finals.

Although judges Heidi Klum and Simon Cowell said they love Niemiller, they said his material during Monday night's show lost them and wasn't his best.

Judges Howie Mandel and Alesha Dixon disagreed and said he was great and very funny.

The "superfans" voted violinist Tyler Butler-Figueroa, entertainer Hans, dog tricks act Alexa Lauenburger, singer Marcelito Pomoy and acrobats Sandou Trio Russian Bar through to the finals.

The judges would determine the final act to advance to the finals between the sixth and seventh-place vote-getters among the "superfans." Host Terry Crews revealed Trapeze act Duo Transcend and acrobats Duo Destiny were up for the final spot, eliminating Niemiller from the competition. Duo Transcend advanced to the finals.

Singer Angelina Jordan and dance groups Boogie Storm, Silhouettes and V. Unbeatable automatically advanced to the finals during the preliminary episodes after receiving golden buzzers from the judges.

During the second preliminary episode, Niemiller advanced to the semifinals thanks to Cowell, Klum and Dixon, who voted him through ahead of singer Luke Islam and escape artist Spencer Horsman.

The final 10 acts will perform in a pre-taped episode airing Monday, Feb. 10 at 8 p.m. on WTHR, and the results will be revealed Monday, Feb. 17.
