'Harry Potter' actor trolls fans with new faux film to encourage voter registration

LONDON (WTHR) — Actor Matthew Lewis, who played Neville Longbottom in the "Harry Potter" series, announced a new film will start shooting in 2020 with the original cast!

However, the attached link actually takes you to the link to register to vote in the United Kingdom.

Lewis was trying to reach the British fan base and encourage as many people to register before the deadline on Nov. 26.

Twitter users applauded Lewis' efforts.

The United Kingdom's general election takes place Thursday, Dec. 12.
