A new candidate has entered the presidential race who is sure to win the vote of children of all ages.

Officials at the childhood home of Dr. Seuss introduced "The Cat In The Hat" and his twin running mates "Thing 1" and "Thing 2" at a press conference Tuesday.

Everyone cheered as the Cat made his entrance. He did not say much, in fact, the candidate did not speak at all, but his excitement was visible. So, too, was the excitement of officials with Dr. Seuss Enterprises, who are about having fun and educating children all at the same time.

"It's important. There's so much hullabaloo. There's so much going on right now, that its important that kids understand what this is all about. They are our future voters and the Cat wants to make sure that they are part of the process and that they are ready when their turn comes," said Susan Brandt, president of Dr. Seuss Enterprises.

The campaign announcement was more than just a fun event with the beloved characters. There is an online vote to help decide the Cat's "first order of business." Five charities are in the running to receive a $10,000 donation.

The Seuss-themed vote includes characters like The Lorax, Horton and "Red Fish, Blue Fish" to push for their cause. Charities included in the vote are First Book (education), Oceana (ocean conservation), Conservation International (environment), Feed the Children (fight hunger), and PACER (kindness).

Voting runs through midnight on Election Day, November 8.
