Woman found dead on Indy's near northwest side identified

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — The Marion County Coroner's Office has identified the woman found dead Thursday morning on the city's near northwest side as 32-year-old Raquel Woodard.

The coroner is considering her death a homicide. She had multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers responded to a call just before 9 a.m. to the 1000 block of West 36th Street across from Crown Hill Cemetery.

When officers arrived, they found a woman in the alley.

Medics arrived and pronounced her dead at the scene.

Detectives stayed on the scene to talk with neighbors to see if anybody knows anything.
