SPEEDWAY, Ind. — Police have made an arrest in the fatal June shooting of 18-year-old Jayshawn Walker.
Police arrested Ruben Gonzalez Magallanes, 20, in San Bernadino, California. He has been charged with murder.
On June 20, officers were called to the 2200 block of Sumter Street just west of Lynhurst Drive around 10:30 p.m. on a reported shooting. Walker was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believed he was targeted and the incident was not a random act.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information should contact the Speedway Police Department or Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS.
