Police seek person of interest in east Indianapolis homicide

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Detectives have released a photo of a person of interest in a fatal stabbing Friday morning.

The stabbing occurred just before 9 a.m. on Stratford Court on the east side. Officers were called to the scene on a report of a person stabbed. The male victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but later died of his injuries.

Friday evening, police released a photo of a man they have described as a person of interest in the case. The surveillance photo was taken Friday morning at 9 a.m., showing the man wearing a light blue hoodie and a dark colored jacket with red and white shoes. He also has a noticeable scar on his head from a previous injury, police said.

Investigators say the man is known to frequent the apartments in the area of E. 42nd Street and N. Post Road. They are hoping to learn who he is or where to find him with help from the public.
