INDIANAPOLIS — Metro Police say a man was shot and killed on the east side late Saturday night.

It happened just before midnight in the 3600 block of North Linwood Avenue.

Officers were called to the scene and found the man, identified Monday by the Marion County Coroner's Office as 32-year-old David Ingram, had been shot.

Ingram was pronounced dead shortly after by medics.

Detectives believe that Ingram forced his way into the home before he was shot.

The homeowner is cooperating with detectives in the case.

Police believe Ingram knew the homeowner.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call the IMPD Homicide Office at (317) 327.3475 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317) 262.8477 or (TIPS). Tips can be submitting anonymously online at www.CrimeTips.org.  A cash reward of up to $1000 may be available if the information leads to a felony arrest.
