INDIANAPOLIS — Police have arrested a man for the shooting death of a 27-year-old on the city's southeast side last week.

Police responded to a report of shots fired near Minnesota Street and State Avenue just before 9 p.m. Thursday. Shortly after, there was another 911 call for a person shot on Harland Street, just north of Minnesota Street.

Officers located a victim, who has been identified as 27-year-old Justus Hudson. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition. He later died at the hospital, police said early Friday.

Officers at the scene were told the shooting may have occurred in the 1600 block of South State Avenue, about five blocks to the west of where officers found the victim.

As IMPD detectives investigated the murder, they identified 25-year-old Rashaad Bass as the suspect. He was arrested Monday, Dec. 7 and has been charged with murder.
