INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry filed four felony charges Wednesday morning against Manuel Orrego-Zavala in Sunday's crash that killed a Colts player and Uber driver on Interstate 70.
Orrego-Zavala (AKA Alex Cabrera and Manuel Orrego-Savala) was detained at the scene of the crash where Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson and his Uber driver, Jeffery Monroe, were killed shortly before 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 4.
He was charged in Marion County on Wednesday with:
Count 1: Leaving the scene of the fatal crash causing the death of Jeffery Monroe
Count 2: Leaving the scene of the fatal crash causing the death of Edwin Jackson
Count 3: Driving while intoxicated causing the death of Jeffery Monroe
Count 4: Driving while intoxicated causing the death of Edwin Jackson
Orrego-Zavala's blood alcohol level was measured at .23 at the scene by the Indiana State Trooper who saw him walk away from the crash and detained him, and tested .19 at Eskenazi Hospital approximately 90 minutes after the crash.
