Man killed in shooting on city's far east side

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - A man was killed in a shooting around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of 30th Street and Cumberland Road on the city's far east side.

Metro Police found the 22-year-old man lying in the street with a gunshot wound in the 2700 block of Lullwater Lane. Medics declared him dead at the scene.

Police have identified the dead man, but detectives will notify next-of-kin and the Marion County coroner's office will perform an autopsy before releasing his name.

Investigators have not shared any reliable suspect information.
