MUNCIE, Ind. (WTHR) - The Muncie teenager who brought a gun to school is getting probation instead of jail time, despite objections from the prosecutor.
Police arrested the 15-year-old across the street from Muncie Central High School in August. He was charged with possession of a firearm and resisting arrest.
Tuesday, the prosecutor argued to have the teen sent to a juvenile facility in the Indiana Department of Correction. Instead, the magistrate gave the boy a year's probation with the first three months spent on home detention.
