INDIANAPOLIS — A 42-year-old man has died after being stabbed at an apartment complex Saturday night.
It happened around 9:40 p.m. at the Grande Reserve at Geist apartment complex near Fox and Oaklandon roads.
Lawrence police say a group of friends and family were gathered when a verbal argument escalated, and one man stabbed another man in the chest area.
The victim, identified Monday by the Marion County Coroner's Office as Devon Casey, was transported to St. Vincent Hospital where he died.
Police say the suspect remained at the scene and was detained for questioning.
This is believed to be an isolated incident between a group of people that knew each other.
There is no threat to public, according to police.
