KOKOMO, Ind. — A Kokomo man and woman have been charged in the beating death of a man on July 4.

Kokomo Police found 50-year-old Anthony D. Hardimon of Kokomo just after midnight unconscious in the yard at 1824 N. Jay St. He had been battered and had severe injuries. Medics took Hardimon to St. Vincent Hospital where he died.

Wednesday, 51-year-old Darrin Thomas and 52-year-old Sabrina Nix were charged with felonies in Hardimon's death, which was ruled a homicide as a result of blunt force trauma and asphyxia by strangulation by the Howard County Coroner's office.

An investigation led to the charges against Thomas and Nix.

Thomas was charged with voluntary manslaughter and aggravated battery. He was already in jail in Howard County on an unrelated charge and now has bail set at $1 million.
