INDIANAPOLIS —  (WTHR) — An IMPD officer has been arrested for battery and domestic battery after officers responded to a disturbance call Thursday.

The incident happened just after 11 p.m. Once police discovered officer Mittan Katoch was involved, the Special Investigations Unit established probable cause for his arrest.

Katoch has been with IMPD since June 2016. He was most recently working in the Southwest District on the day shift. He has been suspended without pay, and his termination is pending.

IMPD Chief Randal Taylor said he was disappointed in the incident. "I am disappointed in the alleged decisions of one of our officers. This behavior will not be tolerated. We remain committed to holding ourselves to the highest ethical standards while protecting the community we serve."

Formal charges have not yet been filed against Katoch. The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will review final charges in the case.
