Woman arrested in connection to deadly hit and run on city's east side

IMPD homicide detectives arrested 27-year-old Simone Delphie in connection to a person's death after being struck by a vehicle Saturday morning.

INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD homicide detectives have arrested 27-year-old Simone Delphie in connection to Saturday's deadly hit and run on the city's east side. 

Delphie is facing preliminary charges of reckless homicide and leaving the scene of a fatal accident.

It happened June 20 around 7:20 a.m. in the 5200 block of E 36th Street. 

Officers were responding to a report of a person down when they found an adult victim who had sustained apparent trauma. 

The victim was transported to the hospital where they were pronounced dead shortly after. 

Detectives on scene learned the victim was involved in an altercation when a suspect struck the victim with a vehicle.

At this time, detectives are investigating this case as a homicide.
