GREENWOOD, Ind. (AP) - A Greenwood man has been sentenced to three years in prison in the fatal shooting of a teenage friend.

The Johnson County Prosecutor's Office says Isaac Stinemetz also was sentenced to three years of probation on a charge of reckless homicide. Stinemetz also received a one-year sentence on a weapons charge that will be served at the same time of his other sentence.

Stinemetz was 18 when he shot 16-year-old Zachary Edwards on Jan. 15.

Police say two teens who witnessed the shooting visited the Greenwood police station with their parents and told officers Stinemetz and Edwards were arguing when Stinemetz shot Edwards. Stinemetz told police he did not believe the gun was loaded at the time.
