LAKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTHR) — Indiana State Police said a man in a 2002 Acura thought he could beat an officer trying to chase him.

The Indiana State trooper was on I-80 in Lake County when he spotted the Acura going 116 mph.

The trooper started chasing and clocked the Acura racing up to 140 mph, swerving in and out of traffic and going onto the shoulder.

The trooper finally got the driver, 20-year-old Dino Lorenzo Gagliano to stop.

Gagliano told the trooper he was worried about his license and thought State Police cars had V6 engines and wouldn't be able to catch up.

The trooper let Gagliano know he has a V8 Hemi under the hood and then took Gagliano to jail.
