CARMEL, Ind. (WTHR) — A 13 Investigates consumer alert out of Carmel, where student information was leaked in a newly discovered data breach.
Carmel Clay Schools sent letters to families letting them know if their child was impacted.
The breach was traced back to "Pearson Clinical Assessment." That's an online system the district had previously used.
The district believes student names and birthdays were leaked, but not the assessment information and grades.
Still, Pearson is offering a free "one year membership" to Experian's identify theft detection system.
