INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — The Marion County prosecutor is announcing four people will plead guilty for their roles in the 2017 murder of a doctor.
On Monday, Devon Seats agreed to plea guilty to Murder and three counts of Burglary. He faces up to 50 years in prison when he is sentenced later this month.
Three accomplices, Nehemiah Merriweather, Tarius Blade and Ka’Ron Bickham-Hurst agreed to plea guilty to burglary charges and will be sentenced in the coming weeks.
In November 2017, the four broke into Dr. Kevin Rodgers home. The teenagers shot and killed Rodgers when he confronted them.
Rodgers was a father of four, served as the assistant lacrosse coach at Cathedral High School, was the Program Director of the IU School of Medicine and the president of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine.
