Coats for Kids' Spring Coat Drive underway

The donated coats will be cleaned and stored for the 2024 Coats For Kids event, which is set for Nov. 2 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

INDIANAPOLIS — The Salvation Army of Central Indiana, along with Classic Cleaners and WTHR, is holding the Spring Coat Drive through May 3.

The goal is to collect hundreds of winter coats for children in central Indiana.

People can visit Classic Cleaners locations and donate new or gently used winter coats for infants through teens.

The donated coats will be cleaned and stored for the 2024 Coats For Kids event, which is set for Nov. 2 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

More than 2,500 coats will be distributed. Since size needs vary, Coats for Kids will need upwards of 4,000 coats to make sure every child is served.
