INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana college students have until midnight Sunday to apply for the 2023 Indianapolis 500 Festival Princess Program.
Each year, 33 college-aged women are selected as 500 Festival Princesses and serve as ambassadors of the 500 Festival, their hometowns, and their schools.
To be considered, candidates must be between 18 and 23 years old, be legal residents of Indiana and enrolled full-time in an Indiana college with a minumim cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Interviews will take place Jan. 21 and Feb. 4, 2023 with a two-day orientation schedueld for Feb. 18. All princess candidates are required to attend interviews and orientation to be selected.
Each 500 Festival Princess will participate in the 500 Festival Leadership Development Program and receive a $1,000 scholarship.
In the months leading up to May, the 500 Festival Princesses take part in outreach programs with community organizations including hospitals, schools, and nonprofits.
