Juvenile dies after Brownsburg building collapse

Three construction workers were injured Monday, and a 14-year-old later died, after the building they were working on collapsed during a thunderstorm.

BROWNSBURG, Ind. — A juvenile construction worker has died after a building collapse in Brownsburg Monday afternoon. He was transported to Riley Hospital after the incident and later died.

The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 14-year-old Edwin Campos-Martinez. A brain injury suffered in the accident was determined to be the cause of the boy's death.

The Brownsburg Fire Department said the construction crews were working on a building just east of State Road 267 on Northfield Drive when it collapsed during high winds in a thunderstorm.

Medics transported the workers to various hospitals. Three other workers besides Campos-Martinez suffered non-life-threatening injuries. PIO Kevin Byron said OSHA is conducting a death investigation.
