New tax law could mean unhappy taxpayers come return time

(WTHR) — With only two months left until th April 15 tax deadline, many taxpayers are getting ready for returns.

But this season might be remembered as the season of "unhappy" tax returns.

Because of the new tax law, the average refund is down more than eight percent. More than 30 million Americans will now be writing checks instead of cashing them.

Financial experts say not to fret, there is still time to make adjustments. Although some deductions have disappeared, you can still deduct your mortgage interest rates and charitable donations.
