INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Two people are dead after a car fell from the fourth floor of a parking garage and landed on its top Wednesday.

The victims were identified Thursday morning as Charles Hunt, 73, and Iristeen Hunt, 70 from University Park, Illinois, which is south of Chicago. The coroner said they died from multiple blunt force trauma.

The black 2013 Lincoln SUV landed in an alley behind City Market just before 10 a.m. Wednesday. Marion County EMS, IMPD and IFD responded to the incident. IMPD will treat the incident as an accidental death investigation.

According to IMPD Captain Chris Bailey, the SUV was traveling south on the third floor of the parking garage when, for an unknown reason, it struck the back left corner of another unoccupied vehicle, traveling 20 feet before it hit the parking garage wall and fell to the ground.

Eyewitness News learned from family that Charles Hunt drove for Chicago Transit Authority for 30 years.
