Nashville man caught riding scooter with small child on his back

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTHR) – A man was spotted riding a scooter in downtown Nashville that now has people debating about the safety risk.

David Reed captured video Thursday of a man riding a scooter with a small child strapped to his back.

"This is probably against the terms and agreements #nashville = #Scooter City USA," Reed wrote on Twitter.

In Nashville, only one person may ride each scooter at a time, according to the Tennessean.

Nashville Metro Police released a statement after a man on a scooter was killed when he was struck by a vehicle back in May.

Police have encouraged riders to be "extremely cautious, wear a helmet, and refrain from riding on sidewalks in the downtown area and other areas that fall within the meaning of business district."

Reed's video has been viewed more than 186,000 times.
