PLAINFIELD, Ind. (WTHR) — Police tell Eyewitness News that a naked man was arrested after an apartment fire in Plainfield.

It happened at the Saratoga Crossing Apartments.

Police were called about two men fighting outside one of the buildings.

When an officer arrived he saw the two men, one of whom was naked, fighting and the deck of one of the apartments on fire.

The officer began evacuating the apartment building with the help of residents.

"It was just flames up in the air. We were knocking and getting everyone out, had a couple disabled people upstairs, a child with his grandmother. We got the people outside and the next thing we seen, there’s a heavy set gentleman running around naked, holding his privates in his hand, police were trying to tackle him,” said Hans Luther, who lives at the complex.

Witnesses told police that naked man had been trying to set things on fire earlier and so investigators are looking at his possible connection to the apartment fire.

Fortunately, no one was injured.

The people in the apartment where the fire was will have to find a different place to stay and possibly the apartment under them because of water damage.
