Mother arrested in DUI crash, leaving her 10-year-old behind

Tina E. Hubbard

JOHNSON COUNTY (WTHR) — A mother in Johnson County is accused of leaving her son behind after an alleged drunk driving crash.

Police arrested Tina Hubbard.

They say she hit a curb after leaving a liquor store and her 10-year-old son jumped out of the car.

He then flagged down another driver for help.

Police say Hubbard started yelling at her son to get back into the car before police got there. When he refused, she took off without him.

Officers found her about two hours later and say she was passed out in her car.

When they arrested her, they say she started yelling, kicking and even spitting at them.

They say her blood alcohol content was more than three times the legal limit.

Police also say they found she had left her 12-year-old behind in a hotel room.

She was booked into the Johnson County Jail on six different charges including neglect and DUI.
