CINCINNATI (WTHR) - In the hustle and bustle of the holiday shopping season, remember that if a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Kroger is warning its customers of an offer for a free $60 Kroger coupon making its way around social media.

"It's not real! We don't recommend engaging with the site(s) that offer links to the coupon, or providing them with any personal information," Kroger wrote on Facebook Tuesday afternoon.

It's not the first time Kroger has had to take to social media to debunk an unbelievable offer. They were the bearers of bad news in June 2015 when a $100 coupon deal was making the rounds.

Kroger says they are working with Facebook and domain service providers to deal with the latest fake coupon issue.

In the meantime, if you find one of the coupons on your Facebook newsfeed, don't click it, don't share it and make sure your friends know why they should avoid it, as well!
