INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Target is bringing back its car seat trade-in event, meaning customers will be able to bring in used car seats and get a 20 percent off coupon for a new one.

The event happens nationwide from April 22 through May 4.

Customers can visit a drop-off location to trade in all types of car seats, including infant seats, convertible seats, car seat bases, harness or booster car seats and expired or damaged car seats. In return, Target will give away 20 percent off coupons toward a new car seat, car seat base, travel system, stroller or some baby home gear.

Target recycles the seats with Waste Management. Since starting the trade-in program in April 2016, Target has recycled 500,000 car seats and more than 7.4 million pounds of materials.

Most Target store locations are also drop-off locations, but there are some exceptions. Click here to find drop-off locations near you.

The coupons can be used for both in-store and online purchases. Coupons must be redeemed by May 11.
