INDIANAPOLIS — In the madness of all of the Black Friday deals, don't forget to shop local, too.

An app called "I Shop Local" just launched in the Indianapolis area, connecting you straight to small businesses. You can call shops right from the app, get information about what they sell, their location, store hours, and more.

Every company on the app is guaranteed to be locally owned and operated.

"When you support them, you're putting food on your neighbor's table, you're putting a kid in dance lessons, you're putting someone's kid through college," said the app's founder, Nick Bello. "That's what supporting local is. You're not helping a CEO of a large company buy a third home on an island, you're helping your next door neighbor feed their kids and that's really what it's all about."

The app started in LaPorte, Indiana, and now serves most of the northern Indiana area. It launched in Indianapolis on Nov. 9.

You can download the I Shop Local app from the App Store or Google Play.
