INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) – If the blue line or natural odor isn't enough, Pampers is now launching a "smart diaper" that will make parent's lives easier.

Lumi by Pampers is a smart sensor that attaches to your child's diaper and sends a notification when the diaper is soiled.

The sensor also tracks your child's sleep.

Pampers showed off the sensor at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas this week.

The reusable sensor attaches to the specially designed diapers that have velcro-like patches and then the sensor logs wetness and sleep patterns and sends the information to your phone via an app.

The sensor's battery is designed to last about three months, according to Pampers' website.

A release about the Lumi said it was created to let “parents see and understand their baby’s daily development 24/7.”

The Lumi system also uses an HD night vision camera capable of monitoring temperature and humidity, the baby sensor and an app to compile the data for parents.
