CINCINNATI (WTHR) - Another too-good-to-be-true offer is likely hitting your Facebook wall this week.
Thousands of people have shared a Kroger coupon that the grocery chain says is a fake.
The $200 Black Friday coupon was posted on a page called "Kroger Club," which has no affiliation with the company.
"It's not real!" Kroger posted on its verified Facebook page Monday afternoon.
The post asks users to share the post and comment "Done" to receive the coupon, which is generally a sure sign of a scam. Another post on a group called "Kroger Club," which wasn't addressed by Kroger, but also offers at $200 coupon asks readers to click a link to get the deal, which is absolutely a bad idea to do. (Also, that "Kroger Club" page has one post, which was just posted on Friday, another sign of a fake.)
Kroger said they are in contact with Facebook to address the scam, while warning customers to remain vigilant.
"We do not recommend engaging with the site(s) or page(s) that are sharing the coupon or providing them with any personal information," Kroger wrote.
