FedEx Supply Chain closing Indianapolis facility, cutting jobs

Worker reductions are set to begin Jan. 31, 2023. The facility is set to close by the end of June.

INDIANAPOLIS — FedEx Supply Chain is closing its facility at 225 Transfer Drive in Indianapolis.

The company is moving that work to a third-party provider at a different location.

There are currently 179 people employed at the facility.

Worker reductions are set to begin Jan. 31, 2023. Approximately 85 employees will be terminated in the first and second phases of reductions.

The facility is set to close by the end of June.

Employees being terminated will be paid wages and benefits through their last day of employment, the company claims in a filing with the state.

A FedEx spokesperson told 13News they are working with the affected employees to help find them other FedEx jobs.

FedEx provided this statement Monday:

“The facility operations that FedEx Supply Chain manages at 225 Transfer Drive, Indianapolis, IN, 46214 will move to a new U.S. location in 2023. We are providing information to our team members there about other FedEx job openings, and actively working to place them at other FedEx Supply Chain facilities nearby.”
