Chewy Chips Ahoy cookies recalled

Snack company Mondelez Global LLC has recalled some packages of Chew Chips Ahoy cookies sold in the United States because they may not actually be so chewy.

EAST HANOVER, N.J. (WTHR) — Snack company Mondelez Global LLC has recalled some packages of Chew Chips Ahoy cookies sold in the United States because they may not actually be so chewy.

The company said the product may contain an "unexpected solidified ingredient." There have been reports of potential adverse health effects due to consuming the cookies.

The products included in the recall come in a 13-ounce package with retail UPC 0 44000 03223 4. They have "best when used by" dates of 07SEP2019, 08SEP2019, 14SEP2019 and 15SEP2019.
