SOMERSET, Kentucky - Police say there is video evidence that a mother in Kentucky forced her teenaged daughter to drink until she was "extremely intoxicated."

Miranda Polston told officers that it was an effort to teach a lesson to the 14-year-old.

A report says the mother found her child drinking on March 10, 2018.

"Ms. Polston told our detective that she was trying to prove to her daughter that alcohol was bad by forcing her to drink more alcohol," said Capt. Mike Correll.

Police said a tipster helped them find a video that showed the girl "in an extreme intoxicated state."

"She tells her mother no, screams it out a couple of times in the video. And the mother continues to force her to drink alcohol," said Correll.

The report also quotes the mother as saying the girl "could be on MTV and make a million dollars."

Police said the video showed others laughing when the girl fell face-first on the floor.

The girl's mother was arrested.
