INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - The Transportation Security Administration says they are investigating after a Federal Air Marshal misplaced a weapon at the Indianapolis International Airport.

In a statement sent to Eyewitness News, the TSA said:

TSA is aware that a Federal Air Marshal misplaced a weapon at the Indianapolis International Airport and is working with local authorities to recover it. While we cannot comment publicly on internal matters currently under investigation, public safety and accountability is an important aspect of our work, and TSA has conducted screening at departure gates in the terminal.

Several passengers contacted Eyewitness News about delayed flights out of Indianapolis Thursday afternoon.

A statement from the Indianapolis Airport Authority said airport operations were slightly delayed this afternoon but they have since resumed.
