MICHIGAN (WTHR) — Michigan police have confirmed a missing mother and daughter have been found safe.

According to WZZM, the Sanilac County Sheriff's Office says both 3-year-old Alydiauna Sophia Munn and her 31-year-old mom, Tara Sheldon, were found Friday, Jan. 17 after being reported missing earlier that morning.

Deputies were able to follow a tip that the mother and daughter were seen at a business in Bay City over several days. Police verified the information after getting photos from the store's surveillance system. The photos were shown to Sheldon's family to confirm the identities.

"The family agrees with investigators that Tara and her daughter did not appear to be in any apparent danger or duress at the time the photo was taken," the sheriff's office said.

On Friday morning, state police tweeted that Sheldon had called her grandfather to tell him that her vehicle had been broken into and she would call him back.

"He advised that he has not heard from or seen Tara or Alydiauna since 1-12-20 after hanging up with her, neither have other family members or friends," police tweeted.
