Michigan mom still missing a week after her newborn was found dead

LANSING, Mich. (WTHR) — Michigan police say the newborn baby found dead on March 19 had no signs of injury or trauma, WILX reported.

The 6-day-old baby was reported missing with her mother and was found dead in the mother's vehicle.

The mother, Ashley R. Shade, is still missing.

Police say Shade gave birth at home and did not seek medical attention for herself or the baby.

Shade is described as a 5-foot-8-inch white female, weighing 142 pounds with curly light brown/sandy blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans.
