INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — The Marion County Sheriff's Office has 29-year-old Brittany Howell in custody again after she escaped Tuesday.

Deputies arrested Howell early Thursday morning as she was trying to board a Greyhound bus to Ohio.

Howell was initially arrested May 8 for driving while suspended and operating a vehicle without a license. She has now been charged with escape, a felony, after fleeing a Marion County sheriff's deputy.

She escaped when a deputy was taking her to the Craine House, a work-release program for women, but they could not accept her. Upon hearing the news, Howell ran out of the lobby, still handcuffed.

The deputy, Robert Anderson, was placed on administrative leave after the escape.
