Man turns himself in for death of man found at White River

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) – A man turned himself into police over the weekend saying he killed the man found along the White River last week.

Hae Di walked into the Marion County Jail Saturday afternoon and reportedly admitted his involvement in the death of 19-year-old Dae Mehm last Thursday. Mehm was found at the White River.

Investigators say Di and Mehm physically fought, and Mehm was killed in that fight. Di was arrested on involuntary manslaughter, reckless homicide and battery charges.

The Marion County Coroners Officer hasn't yet released an official cause and manner of death for Mehm.

Anyone with more information about this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317) 262-TIPS (8477). Information given via Crime Stoppers will remain anonymous and the caller will be eligible for up to a $1000 award for information leading to a felony arrest.
