Man struck and killed on south side of Indianapolis Saturday night

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Metro police are investigating a deadly crash that killed a pedestrian on the south side Saturday night.

Police say a man was struck and killed around 11 p.m. near the intersection of Madison Avenue and Thompson Road.

Investigators say the victim, who has not been identified, ran across the street. He was not using a crosswalk or at the intersection when he was struck.

The driver stayed on scene and cooperated with detectives. His Ford pickup was towed away.

Police say alcohol is not a factor in the incident.
