INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - State Police say a man ejected from an SUV that crashed on the ramp from I-465 to Washington street early this morning has died.

Police have not released the man's name.

He was one of two men in the Chevy Trailblazer that left southbound I-465 around 4:15 a.m. and drove off the ramp, then rolled.

According to State Police, first responders who found the man who had been ejected from the SUV said he was seriously injured when he left in an ambulance.

Another man, later identified as the driver, was found walking along the side of the road and collapsed a short time later. He was also taken to the hospital. His condition is not available.

Officers believe drugs may be a factor in this crash, and the driver faces preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death, along with possession of a syringe.

The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will determine formal charges.
