What a day ahead! We will notice a few differences in the weather this afternoon. Lower temperatures, a bit lower humidity and simply beautiful weather for September.

Much of the United States is under the power of a huge ridge of high pressure. As a result, the weather simply won’t change much. We will have somewhat cooler air the next few days, and the rain stays away.

We’ll warm back up for the weekend but stay mainly dry until perhaps Monday.

Next week, we could see a return to the upper 70s, but even those temperatures are above normal for this time of year. Look for rain to come back into our forecast next week.

THIS DAY IN CENTRAL INDIANA WEATHER HISTORY:

1969: At Indianapolis, the record precipitation amount for the date is set at 1.07 inches.
