CICERO, Ind. (WTHR) - The Cicero Fire Department was called to a pair of overnight fires that were caused by lightning strikes from a passing storm.

Alarms first sounded at 1:12 a.m. in Grissom Estates on West Brinton Street at the apartment complex.

A second call from 1020 Oak Hill Lane came in just before 1:30 a.m.

Homeowners John and Debbi Leitzel reported hearing a loud crash of thunder and the house shook and their power failed.

They smelled smoke that triggered their alarm and saw fire coming from their attic.

Noblesville firefighters joined the Cicero crew and extinguished the fire, that was contained to the the second floor.

Nobody was hurt at either the Leitzel house or the Brinton Street apartment fire.
