INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Indy Rama kicks off this weekend. Six houses around downtown Indianapolis are being showcased inside and out.
If you've ever thought you might want to live near downtown Indy, now's your chance to see how that would look.
"There's something really cool about knowing you're just minutes or miles away from downtown and able to have access to all those amenities," said Kristen Krempp, director of communication and special events for BAGI.
Of the six homes on display, five are brand new builds. Some have spacious basements, adding extra square footage that can be hard to find.
"It really gives us an opportunity to allow homeowners really quickly to see what they want in a home, where they want to be and some Of the best features that are a good fit for them and their lifestyle," said Andrew Brindley, High Efficiency Homes owner.
This house on Bellefontaine has an accent wall in the living room, something people may want to recreate in their own space.
"If you don't know where to start with your own home renovation or whether you're shopping for a new home, we're happy to help answer any questions big or small," said Brindley.
Another home, this one in the Herron-Morton neighborhood, has a wrap-around porch with quite a view of downtown.
"Obviously in today's age, video and photos of homes are so prominent, but you really can't get the feel for the actual homes and everything they have to offer without coming to see them for yourself," said Krempp.
Just one of the renovated homes was torn down to the studs and built back up. The kitchen has floor-to-ceiling storage and a home office just off the front room. Each design is as unique as the person who could be living there soon..
