What's Cooking: Bread Basket Cafe

DANVILLE, Ind. (WTHR) - Since it’s likely you stayed indoors during the recent brutal cold weather, you’re probably ready to venture out to try a new restaurant.

What's Cooking visited Hendricks County recently to sample fresh food in a small town setting.

The Bread Basket Café first opened in Coatsville 12 years ago. For the last six years it's been situated in a cozy former home just off the square in Danville.

The owner said she was just looking for something to do when her kids left home. She has hit it out of the park with the fresh baked goods, cookies, pies and breads her customers love.

“We bake everything ourselves. I buy my eggs from local farmer, they are delivered twice a week. I buy produce from local farms that grow organically,” owner Judy Sexton told us.

“The chicken salad is a recipe I have used long before the bread basket opened, it's my own recipe for dressing as well.”
