Kroger starts charging to get cash back at checkout

CINCINNATI (WTHR) - Kroger stores are now charging a fee to get cash back at the register.

The grocery chain recently announced a minimum 50-cent charge on debit card cash-back transactions, WLWT reported.

The fee works on a scale, with a 50-cent charge on all cash-back requests under $99.99. Customers requesting between $100 and $150 back will be charged $1.50, those requesting between $150.01 and $2,000 will be charged $3.50 and requests between $2,001 and $9,999, a $6 service fee will be applied.
