KOKOMO, Ind. (WTHR) - A Kokomo woman is facing neglect charges after two women in her care tested positive for drugs.

According to our partners at the Kokomo Tribune, the investigation into 21-year-old Angel Cooper began last year. Police found that a five-year-old and a three-year-old in her home both had methamphetamine and THC in their systems.

Prosecutors say officers found a third child that was severely malnourished. That child, who was born in December, gained only two ounces by the time of his first checkup in February. Court documents show Cooper rescheduled weight checks for the child on several occasions.

All three children have been removed from the home.

Cooper was taken into custody Monday on three counts of neglect of a dependent. She has a court hearing scheduled for June 11.
